AI Governance Singapore — AI Policy, PDPA-AI Risk & Responsible AI Consulting
Your team is already using AI. Your customers, auditors and regulators will ask how you govern it. Sage Shield’s AI Governance Pack is a fixed-fee consulting engagement that puts real, documented guardrails around AI use in your company — aligned to Singapore’s Model AI Governance Framework and the PDPA — delivered in two to three weeks.
Why Singapore companies need AI governance now
Three forces are converging on Singapore SMEs in 2026:
- Customer due diligence. Enterprise clients and tenders increasingly ask vendors how AI is controlled — especially where client data touches AI tools. “We don’t have a policy” is becoming a disqualifying answer.
- Regulatory exposure. The PDPA applies in full when personal data meets AI tools. IMDA’s Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI sets the standard regulators and courts will reference. Staff pasting customer data into consumer chatbots is a live data-protection incident waiting to be discovered.
- Grant-funded AI adoption. Companies taking CTC, EDG or PSG funding for AI projects need governance evidence — it strengthens both the application and the audit trail that follows.
The AI Governance Pack — seven deliverables
- AI Use Policy — a board-adoptable policy defining permitted tools, approval routes and prohibited uses.
- Responsible-AI framework — practical controls aligned to Singapore’s Model AI Governance Framework for Generative AI.
- PDPA–AI risk assessment — where personal data meets AI tools: risks, lawful bases, and a data-flow map.
- Staff AI SOPs & guardrails — plain-language dos and don’ts your team will actually follow, per function.
- AI tool & vendor register — an inventory of every AI tool in use, with a due-diligence checklist for new ones.
- Incident & escalation procedure — what happens when AI gets it wrong: containment, notification, correction.
- Management briefing — one session with leadership on your obligations, exposures and sign-offs.
Extend the pack
- Staff AI training — a half-day “AI for Compliance & Operations Teams” workshop, eligible for CTC Grant support as part of a transformation project.
- ISO/IEC 42001 pathway — the pack’s documents are built to become the foundation of a certifiable AI Management System. See our complete ISO 42001 Singapore guide.
- DPO integration — fold AI oversight into our outsourced Data Protection Officer service for ongoing coverage rather than a one-off exercise.
Fund up to 70% of this engagement
As part of a qualifying transformation project, AI governance consultancy can be supported at up to 70% under the NTUC CTC Grant — open to all Singapore-registered companies, with no union membership required. Read our NTUC CTC Grant guide, or ask us for the one-page funding annex. Grant approval is assessed per project by e2i.
Why Sage Shield
We are a Singapore compliance consultancy that has implemented ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and PDPA programmes for over 200 companies — and we run AI heavily in our own operations, so the guardrails we write come from practice, not theory. The pack is delivered by the same consultants who handle our ISO 27001 and PDPA engagements.
Frequently asked questions
Does my company need an AI governance policy?
There is no standalone AI law in Singapore yet — but the PDPA applies fully when personal data touches AI tools, IMDA’s framework sets the expected baseline, and enterprise customers are already asking. If your team uses AI in daily work, a documented policy is the minimum defensible position.
How is this different from ISO 42001?
The pack establishes working policies and controls in weeks; ISO/IEC 42001 is a certifiable management system audited by an accredited body. The pack is the sensible first step — and it is built to grow into a 42001 implementation.
We only use third-party AI tools — is this still relevant?
Especially then. Most SME AI risk sits in unmanaged use of third-party tools — unknown tools in use, client data in consumer chatbots, no rules on relying on AI output. The pack is built for companies that use AI, not just those that build it.
What does it cost and how long does it take?
Fixed fee, scaled to headcount and the number of AI tools in scope, delivered in two to three weeks. Contact us for a quote.
