A swathe of Maitland area businesses have been named finalists in this year’s Hunter Valley Safety Awards, with the winner set to be announced on Friday.

Hunter Valley Training Company CEO Sharon Smith.
The award highlights companies and individuals across the region who demonstrate best practice and innovative approaches when it comes to workplace health and safety.
Body and Mind 2000, Compass Housing, Hunter Engineering and Fabrication, Hunter TAFE, Hunter Valley Training Company, Mainstream Industries, Training Wheels and Valley Electrical and Air are among the 25 finalists.
“Just like last year, we were very impressed with the range of WHS initiatives being undertaken by organisations and individuals across the region,” award founder Sarah-Jane Dunford said.
“The finalists represent a wide range of industries and sectors and the calibre of entries was impressive. It was an honour to be able to read about and research how companies are developing world-first products or creating a culture of change for their organisation or inspiring others to embrace WHS.”
