You may have heard that ACC Occupational Security and Health Administration (OSHA) to form a National Alliance. The whole concept behind this voluntary partnership effort is to continue to promote safe and healthy American work environments operating with diisocyanate chemicals along the polyurethane worth chain.

Three groups here at ACC will lead the work with OSHA: the Center for the Polyurethanes Market( CPI )and the Diisocyanates(DII)and Aliphatic Diisocyanates(ADI)panels. Among the important things we’re most thrilled about is

engaging with OSHA and our stakeholders in the polyurethanes industry together about product stewardship, training, outreach and awareness of both OSHA’s regulatory requirements and the resources offered from OSHA and from the industry. Working through this Alliance, ACC will have the ability to offer users, occupational physicians, stakeholders, OSHA representatives at the state, local and nationwide level, and others with information, guidance and access to training resources that will help them further secure the health and wellness of workers. How will that work? Over the previous several years, the polyurethanes market has developed a multi-lingual resource

library with assistance files, training modules, videos and workshops focused on safe usage and handling of diisocyanates. At the very same time, OSHA has actually developed resources to help companies with workplace safety and compliance. OSHA’s On-site Assessment Program offers free and confidential recommendations to small- and medium-sized businesses in all states across the country

, with concern given to high-hazard worksites. On-site Consultation services are different from enforcement activities. Experts from state companies or universities deal with companies to recognize office risks and offer guidance on compliance with OSHA standards. Throughout the two-year regard to the Alliance, we will develop some brand-new tools to deepen stakeholders’understanding or to more assistance particular groups of users. By teaming up with OSHA, we can

reach audiences we may not have actually reached before. And that’s really the secret for us. The more people who comprehend sound security concepts, the much better off employees are. Therefore an opportunity that assists us spread out the message is a positive. This Alliance with OSHA will enable us to do just that. We’ll be seeking to raise awareness of OSHA’s rulemaking and enforcement efforts; we’ll perform training to educate employers, employees and OSHA officials on safety problems; and we’ll be developing reliable outreach and interaction efforts to increase the visibility of the partnership and its objectives. The more companies that understand about our work, the more great we can do to promote worker health and wellness. Making our workplaces even more secure has actually constantly been a leading priority for us here at ACC, and the bottom line is this collaboration with OSHA is going to build on what’s currently a strong foundation of product stewardship.
