Singapore Business Grants for SMEs 2026 — PSG, EDG & SkillsFuture Explained
Singapore offers some of the most generous business grants in the region. Whether you are a startup looking to digitise operations or an established small and medium enterprise (SME) planning a major transformation, there is likely a government grant that can fund 50 to 70 percent of your project. But with so many grants available — the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG), Enterprise Development Grant (EDG), SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC), and Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) — it can be confusing to know which one fits your business.
This guide breaks down the most relevant grants for Singapore SMEs in 2026, explains who qualifies, and shows you exactly how to apply.
1. Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG)
The Productivity Solutions Grant is a government grant administered by Enterprise Singapore that helps businesses adopt pre-approved digital solutions. It is one of the fastest and simplest grants to apply for, making it a popular choice among SMEs looking to upgrade their operations without the complexity of a full grant proposal.
What PSG Covers
PSG funds the adoption of off-the-shelf IT solutions and equipment that have been pre-approved by Enterprise Singapore. This includes solutions for accounting, human resources, customer relationship management (CRM), safety management, cybersecurity, and more.
Funding Level
Up to 50% of qualifying costs for supported digital solutions.
Who Can Apply
- Business registered and operating in Singapore
- No more than 200 employees or annual revenue not exceeding $100 million
- At least 30% local shareholding
- Purchase or subscription of the IT solution must not have commenced before the grant application
How to Apply
Applications are submitted through the Business Grants Portal (BGP) using CorpPass. You select the pre-approved solution, submit supporting documents, and typically receive a decision within 4 to 6 weeks.
How We Help
At Sage Shield, our Digital Compliance Systems — including safety management platforms, permit-to-work systems, and corporate training portals — are designed with PSG eligibility in mind. We guide you through solution selection and the application process.

2. Enterprise Development Grant (EDG)
The Enterprise Development Grant is Enterprise Singapore’s flagship grant for businesses undertaking customised transformation projects. Unlike PSG, which covers pre-approved solutions, EDG supports bespoke projects that are tailored to your specific business needs.
What EDG Covers
EDG supports projects across three strategic pillars:
- Core Capabilities — Business process redesign, workforce training, and corporate governance
- Innovation and Productivity — Technology adoption, automation, and process optimisation
- Market Access — Overseas expansion, new market entry, and internationalisation
Funding Level
Up to 50% of qualifying project costs, and up to 50% for qualifying SMEs.
Who Can Apply
- Business registered and operating in Singapore
- Minimum three years of operation for certain project categories
- Financially viable business with a clear project plan
- Projects must be forward-looking — you cannot claim for work already done
How to Apply
EDG applications are also submitted through the Business Grants Portal (BGP). Because EDG covers custom projects, the application requires a more detailed proposal, including project scope, expected outcomes, and a timeline. Processing typically takes 8 to 12 weeks.
How We Help
We design and build customised Digital Compliance Systems funded by EDG — from safety management platforms and document automation tools to integrated compliance dashboards. Our team handles the grant application on your behalf, from initial consultation through to deployment and grant filing.

3. SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit (SFEC)
The SkillsFuture Enterprise Credit is a one-off $10,000 credit that helps employers invest in workforce transformation and skills development. It is one of the easiest grants to access because eligible companies receive the credit automatically — there is no separate application process for the credit itself.
What SFEC Covers
The $10,000 credit covers up to 90% of out-of-pocket costs for supportable programmes, including:
- Workforce training programmes and certifications
- Enterprise transformation projects
- Skills development initiatives aligned with national frameworks
Who Qualifies
- Employed at least three Singapore citizens or permanent residents in at least one month during the qualifying period
- Contributed Skills Development Levy (SDL) for at least three consecutive months
Can SFEC Be Combined With Other Grants?
Yes. One of the biggest advantages of SFEC is that it can be stacked with other grants such as PSG or EDG. This means you can use the credit to further offset out-of-pocket expenses on a funded project, stretching your grant dollars even further.
How We Help
Use your SFEC to fund workplace safety training for your team through our Sage Shield Academy — with more than 45 courses covering bizSAFE, ISO, fire safety, risk assessment, and more.
4. Market Readiness Assistance (MRA) Grant
The Market Readiness Assistance Grant helps Singapore businesses expand overseas. Administered by Enterprise Singapore, it provides funding to defray the costs of entering new markets.
Key Details
- Funding: Up to 50% of eligible costs, capped at $100,000 per new market per year
- Covers: Market research, business matching activities, and overseas marketing
- Best for: Companies ready to set up operations or pursue clients in foreign markets
While MRA is not directly related to workplace safety or compliance, it is worth knowing about if your business has international ambitions. Companies that have built a strong compliance foundation in Singapore — through bizSAFE, ISO certifications, or CaseTrust accreditation — often find these credentials give them a competitive edge when expanding overseas.
5. SkillsFuture Study Awards and Training Subsidies
Beyond enterprise-level grants, Singapore also offers individual training subsidies that benefit both employers and employees.
For Individuals
Every Singaporean aged 25 and above receives a SkillsFuture Credit that can be applied to a wide range of approved courses, including workplace safety and health (WSH) courses. Employees can use these credits to upskill on their own, reducing your company’s training expenditure.
For Employers
Course fees for SkillsFuture-funded programmes often attract subsidies of up to 70% (or up to 90% for SMEs under enhanced funding), meaning your actual out-of-pocket cost for employee training can be very low — especially when combined with SFEC.
